Top 10 Tips/Uses for Blogger

1.       Blogs are great tools for capturing students’ interests when they may otherwise not be interested in class.
2.       Blogs are useful in creating portfolios and posting assignments, and other work.
3.       Blogs are a wonderful interactive tool that allows for discussions, comments, collaboration, and feedback.
4.       Blogs allows for followers, which makes it accessible to track bloggers comments and posts.
5.       It’s free to use, which is always a bonus. Plus blogs can be formatted to fit individual interests and styles.  There is room for creative freedom in creating a blog.
6.       Blogs are an asset in providing people and especially students with that critical link to technology. Blogs help further prepare people to digitally organize, express, and comment.
7.       Blogs are a great way to stay connected, receive and share information.  Blogs can be shared with students, their parents, and people all over the world.
8.       The “writing process” is essential in blogging, which is a vital part of why blogs are important in the classroom. Students can practice their writing skills beyond the traditional pencil and paper technique.
9.       There are a variety of protection and security features on a blog, which can be setup to include child protection and internet safety.
10.   Lastly and most importantly blogs are essentially easy to use!

10 Ten Tips for Using Videos/Movie Maker in the Classroom

1.       Having students use Windows Movie Maker is an alternative way to motivate students to learn.
2.       Videos can help foster creativity for student and teach in the classroom
3.       Using Movie Maker and other similar software can help develop students’ computer skills.
4.       Using Movie Maker in the classroom can be shared and edited; this can get students to have those discussions about different perspectives and have students think about who is the audience that a video is trying to reach.
5.       Movie Maker and other software can be used as assignment ideas for students. For example, students can create movie trailers for books they are reading in class.
6.       Videos can help students express their knowledge in a creative way based on the content information.
7.       Movie Makers and other software is easy to use and accessible to many.
8.       Videos can be away to create discussions in the classroom and prompt new ideas and critical thinking.

Top 10 Tips for Webquesting!

1.       Web Quests are useful because the model of a Web Quest helps students decipher educational websites/resource sites from other less informed sites through the direction of the teacher.
2.        Web Quests allows students to analyze and synthesize information that they have found on the websites. This allows teacher to implement more technology in to the classroom, but continue with that tradition of activities having an educational focuses.
3.       The cool thing about Web Quest is that it can be used for one than one content area!
4.       Web Quests provide enough structure for students to stay-on-task, but they are also getting involved in their learning by exploring the different websites.
5.       Students can demonstrate the knowledge they have learned through the educational websites
6.       Web Quests can be used to guide student’s imagination, help students develop their critical thinking skill for larger projects, and can be given to substitute teachers, which if done properly the students can work independently to complete the Web Quest.
7.       Web Quests can also be completed in small groups where students can interact with each other more and explore the links to the websites given
8.       Web Quests are an interesting tool to use in the classroom because the activities can cover a wide range of diverse learners in the classroom and get each of them invested in the project.
9.       Web Quests templates can be helpful guides for teachers who want to provide interesting activities for the students, but teachers are also able to justify that learning objectives are being met and match those up to the curriculum standards.
