Does a school's climate and teaching methods play an active role in preparing students for their futures in a rapidly changing world?

  1. I believe they do. If there is anxiety and frustration in the air in a classroom then you will have many students not paying attention. I think that if a child does not understand how you teach, as we discussed earlier today, then they will go away frustrated and might despise the subject you are teaching. Ideally teachers would have a concrete and an abstract method to teach a subject. Fortunately for you, English is usually a little more straight forward. =)

  2. A school's climate and teaching methods play a HUGE role in prepare students for the future. First of all, the climate needs to be a caring and postive one so that students feel comfortable being themselves. In terms of teaching methods I feel it would be beneficial to integrate technology to keep students up to speed on an ever-changing world.

  3. I belive that a schools climate and teaching methods play a huge role. It is hard to be in a school with a negative atmosphere. Schools need to be a place that is postive. Children have a hard time learning in negative situations. The teaching methods on the other hand requires balance. No two teachers teach exactly the same. Balance is very important, it takes a while to get this.

  4. The answer to this question depends firstly on the teaching style of the teacher. As a teacher if you lecture constantly without any student participation, then the students will not be prepared for life after school. If your classroom keeps the students involved by using skills like critical thinking or working with peers, then they are on the right path.
As for the school climate, it varies at every school. If the teachers tell the students they will never become a doctor or the president of the United States then students will shut down educationally. But, if as teachers, we nurture students to be the best person they can be, then we will have the leaders of tomorrow.
